The Office of College Guidance at California Academy has developed a comprehensive process that spans all four years of a student’s journey. Personalized counseling with our Director of College Guidance ensures that student interests align with potential colleges. Furthermore, students receive assistance in planning for college entrance exams and guidance throughout the entire application process.

To support this process, our partner institutions and online resources provide a wealth of materials on SAT preparation, conducting a college search, crafting admission essays, exploring financial aid resources, and other college-related topics. Additionally, we host annual speakers and workshops to empower students with knowledge on how to effectively prepare themselves for the college application process.

However, genuine college preparation extends beyond standardized testing. Our graduates go beyond subject mastery, as they are trained to be problem solvers, self-motivated explorers, and independent thinkers. The boarding experience equips them with the skills needed to thrive on a college campus, while their involvement in extracurricular activities instills confidence, self-discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.

The outcomes of our college preparation efforts speak volumes. Since 2015, an impressive 99% of our students gained admission to selective four-year colleges or universities, with 92% attending institutions ranked in the top 5% nationwide. These results are a testament to the effectiveness of California Academy’s college preparation program.
